Female Realtors barraged with salacious phone calls, texts

By January 31, 2015 One Comment

A man pretending to be a homebuyer from Florida is targeting female Realtors with lewd and suggestive phone calls and text messages, the San Antonio Board of Realtors warned members this week.

The man — who has used a number of names including Jeff Robinson, Andrew Chandler, Bill Scott and Troy Casey — calls female agents and tries to set up showing for large vacant residential properties, SABoR said.

That’s set off alarm bells in the industry, still shaken by the kidnapping and murder of Arkansas Realtor Beverly Carter in September. Two suspects in that case have pleaded not guilty.

KSAT’s Tim Gerber reports that more than 50 agents have heard from the man, who police think is the same man they’ve arrested before for similar harassment. SABoR said the man is facing charges in Las Vegas and Florida.

Victims are advised to contact San Antonio Police at 210-207-7635.
