Agent-only app sifts MLS data to show agents how they’re connected

By March 4, 2015 One Comment

Homesnap’s agent-only mobile app, Homesnap Pro, just learned a cool new trick: Sifting transactional data from participating MLSs, the app can show agents how they’re connected to each other — whether they or someone in their office has done a deal with a particular agent, for example, or if they have mutual connections.

With partnerships in place with seven of the nation’s 20 biggest MLSs, Homesnap Pro’s “How Am I Connected?” feature uncovers more than 2.2 billion transactional relationships, “creating an unprecedented social and professional graph, which agents can now access,” the company said.

“Much like LinkedIn, we expect this feature to make agents’ existing connections visible and valuable as they conduct business,” said Homesnap CEO Guy Wolcott in a statement.

“How Am I Connected?” is a new addition to existing agent profiles in Homesnap Pro. Users can now tap the “How Am I Connected?” button to find out how they are connected to the agent they are looking at. Just as LinkedIn shows how users are connected when they look at someone else’s LinkedIn page, the answer will depend on who is doing the looking.
